So you’ve decided to have cosmetic tattooing done!? Or you’re doing some research (smart thing) and you need some more info while deciding? Well let’s get right into it!
First, let’s make sure you’re a candidate for cosmetic tattoo procedures!
*If you have a previous tattoo already on brows or lips, please take a quick close up pic and send it to Carla at 905 246 2772. We need to ensure we can work over the current shape and colour. Wait for approval before booking your appointment!
*If you are pregnant/breastfeeding, you will need to wait.
*Currently or in the last 12 months used Accutane
*Have a very fresh suntan or sunburn on your face.
*Take blood thinning medications or antibiotics.
*Have Rosacea
*Are currently undergoing cancer treatment.
Now let’s prepare for your procedure!
*Avoid tweezing/waxing/threading around brows/lips for as long as possible before your appointment.
*Discontinue hair growth serums on brows/eyelids at least 4 weeks before.
*If you tint your brow hair, make sure to do it about 3 days before.
*Stop using your retinol skincare for at least 2 weeks before.
*No facial treatments done at least 3 weeks before.
*Avoid your following supplements about 5 days prior. Vitamin A, E, B6, niacin, all fish oils, ginko, St. John’s wort and evening primrose.
*Make sure if you have Botox or fillers that you go at least 3 weeks prior to procedure.
*Avoid ibuprofen, alcohol and your omega vitamins 48 hours before procedure.
*Avoid caffeine 12 hours before.
*No tanning beds or direct unprotected sun exposure 2 weeks before. (But who does that anyways, right!?)
*LIPBLUSH clients, if you’ve ever had a cold sore, an antiviral medication from your pharmacist is required. Take as directed for prevention!
Feel free to send me pictures of inspo brows that I’ve done that you really love (and ones that you don’t!) Once meeting you, I’ll be able to suggest the perfect technique, style, colour and shape that will be best suited for you. However, I love seeing what you see for yourself so we can be on the same page!
Is this exciting or what!? Ok, hold tight, because I also want to share some of my DAY OF PROCEDURE tips to help ease your nerves and make this the best experience for you.
*Ensure you have read the precare and aftercare of course. The more you know and understand about the process of healing and what to expect, the better!
*Please make sure to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time to fill out paperwork, use the bathroom and breathe to calm your nerves before we start. If you’re rushed and stressed, that energy carries over to me too! (Do you want a stressed tattoo artist working on your face? Hehe didn’t think so!)
*Wear comfortable clothing! Your first session takes approximately 2.5 hours and you’ll be laying down for most of this. (Best nap ever)
*Minimal chatting is best as I am mapping and tattooing your brows. I do my best work when I can really focus and concentrate. Relax and enjoy this time!
*Your brow area may appear “chest nutty” for the first few days and this is NORMAL! It will not heal this way.
*Your touch up appointment will be scheduled for you at your first appointment. Please try to keep this appointment. Due to my schedule it gets difficult to reschedule!
Lastly, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you have leading up to your procedure! I am so excited to meet you!
Thank you for choosing me and see you soon!
