The aftercare of your new tattoo is the most important part of the healing process to ensure the best result for you. Not following my aftercare instructions can alter the outcome and additional touch ups may be required. Please take the time to understand the steps in the healing process.
Do not touch, scrub or pick your lips.
Use ice to reduce swelling if needed.
Avoid sweating the first 24 hours.
Drink through a straw and avoid spicy and salty foods for the first 72 hours.
No facials, filler, chemical peels or anti aging ingredients such as retinol or glycolic acid for 3 weeks afterwards. Wear a floppy hat when in sun of course and apply sunscreen!
Your lips will appear brighter and more solid looking for the first few days. You may feel some tingling, tenderness and they may feel tight.
You will be given an ointment to keep on your lips at all times. Hydration is key in a great LipBlush heal.
Washing your face and getting your lip tattoo wet is perfectly fine. Pat dry afterward and make sure to reapply your ointment. I also recommend aquaphor for your lips at all times or any hydrating lip chap or balm.
You will notice your LipBlush colour soften and lighten over the next few weeks. You may experience some flakiness as well. The colour will start to bloom again during the healing process. Your touch up will be scheduled within 4 to 6 weeks post procedure.
